Coulter Lake is open year round to provide vacation trips of a lifetime! The ranch is one of the few guest ranches located directly on a pristine mountain lake. We offer summer vacations with an emphasis on horseback riding for people of all riding abilities. This includes areas to lope for those comfortable doing so. Other activities include swimming, boating, fishing, volleyball, horse shoes, target & skeet shooting, hiking, or simply relaxing on your porch! Fall brings the changing aspen and big game hunting. Winter brings snowmobiling, ice skating, show shoeing, sledding, and more. Coulter Lake is a perfect location for family vacations, family reunions, weddings, business meetings, team building, or simply a get-away to unwind.
|Capacity:||The ranch will hold 30 people when everything works out perfectly! There are 21 beds in the 6 cabins.|
|Open:||Coulter Lake is open year round. We will take out trailrides from mid-May through the end of September although May can change a bit with the weather. We have hunters at the ranch from mid-September through mid-November plus some turkey hunting in April and early May. Snowmobiling and winter activities are the heart of our winter program. Normally the snow stays from early December through March.|
|Altitude:||The ranch is located at 8100' and most of our activities year round are between 7000' and 9200'.|
|Location:||The ranch is located 20 miles northeast of Rifle, CO. Rifle is just north of I-70 approximately 3 hours due west of Denver between Glenwood Springs and Grand Junction. Directions to the ranch are on our website or will be sent to those driving.|
|Rates:||Summer Package Rates:
6 night all-inclusive package: $1,650 adults; $1,350 youths (6 to 14); $695 kids (4 and 5)
3 night all-inclusive package: $925 adults; $750 youths (6 to 14); $425 kids (4 and 5)
Kids 3 and under are free
$85 per night per person. This price includes lodging and meals only. Plus tax.

|Transportation:||Shuttle service can be provided to Grand Junction, Vail, Glenwood Springs, or Rifle. There is a $100 per trip charge for trips to the commercial airport Grand Junction. There is a $50 per trip charge for the train or bus station in Glenwood Springs and for the private airport in Rifle. Guests flying into Denver International Airport would need to rent a car or consider the train. The ranch is 90 minutes away from the airport Grand Junction and 4-1/2 hours from the airport in Denver.|

|Lodging:||Coulter Lake is made up of 6 guest cabins, a lodge with common area and dining room, a game room, gift shop, barn and corral. Guests stay in our cabins which have from 1 to 3 bedrooms. Each cabin has a sitting area with couch and chairs, a private bathroom with shower, and a front porch overlooking the lake and mountains. All but one cabin has a fireplace. Our largest cabin has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. All of the bedding and towels are provided.|
|Kids' Program:||Kids programs are available for those 4 and above. Children must be at least 6 years old to ride a horse by themselves. Those who are 4 and 5 will be able to sit on "their" horse and be led by one of our kid wranglers. They will be able to swim, boat, hike, play games, crafts, and more with our kid wranglers. All activities are age appropriate and reviewed with the parents. Babysitting is available at $10 per hour and with advanced notice.|
|Food/Dining:||Meals are served in our dining room or outdoors at one of our cookout locations. Breakfasts are made to order and served between 7:30am and 9:00am so you don't have to rush down! Eggs any way you want them, delicious blueberry or chocolate chip pancakes, or french toast are always on the menu! Lunch and dinner are set menus although special dietary needs are always accommodated. Dinner meals include salads, main course, vegetables, normally another side dish, rolls, and homemade desserts. Typical main courses would include steaks, barbeque ribs, ranch chicken, kabobs, or other hearty fare.|
