Tumbling River Ranch

Tumbling River Ranch fly fishing vacation ranch in Grant Colorado

The ranch is located along twelve miles of Geneva Creek (the Tumbling River). During the typical summer week about a dozen families are here and we think this is just right for our guests - enough to assure that there's plenty going on and that you'll be able to meet other interesting folks, but not so many that you'll feel lost.

Capacity: 55 guests
Open: Summer
Altitude: 9,200 feet
Location: We are surrounded by Pike National Forest with many of the highest peaks in the Rockies. There are literally millions of acres of secluded, unspoiled country to enjoy; alpine meadows colored with wildflowers, cascading streams and deep blue mountain lakes far from any sign of civilization. Twenty miles to the north is historic Georgetown which a century ago became known as the Silver Queen - the silver mining capital of the Rockies. Its old homes and stores are extremely well preserved.

Lodging: The Ranch House and the Pueblo House were both built during the 1920's and reflect a charm that can no longer be duplicated. An early mayor of Denver built the Ranch House as his mountain home. Bighorn sheep can often be seen from this five story lodge, which accommodates the main dining room, kitchen, large living/gathering room, lounge room, and five guest suites (each complete with fireplace and private bath), perfect for a large family.

Surrounding the Ranch House are half a dozen cabins. The cabins vary in size, but typically each has two separate suites that can be opened to adjoin. Each suite has a private bath, fireplace and beautiful front porch complete with a swing.
Kids' Program: At Tumbling River Ranch, our kids program is our major focus. Well known as the premier kids ranch in Colorado, we not only focus on the interests of the kids, but we relish the opportunity to introduce the kids to the western lifestyle and western ideas (no TV & movies here). Your kids will leave TRR with memories for years to come.

Our flexible program gives families time together as well as allowing kids to have adventures of their own. Parents can be assured that infants, kids and teens will be well entertained.

For kids under 6, we have pony rides. Those 6 and over may go on the trail rides. Kids any age may accompany their parents on vehicle trips.

The programs include riding, hiking, fishing, swimming, nature hikes, rodeo practice, games, scavenger hunts, hay rides, kids overnight campouts, and play in our fort & teepee.
Food/Dining: Meals are a source of pride to us so everything will be home cooked. Typical dinners will feature beef tenderloin, salmon, pork tenderloin and, of course, everything is all you can eat. Beer and wine are served, but guests are welcome to bring additional alcohol as well.
